Announcing our New Executive Director and our 2005-2006 Board Members

The Lyceum of Monterey County is well known for after school and weekend programs in the Arts, Sciences, and Humanities throughout Monterey County.  We sponsor the Monterey County Mock Trial in January, the Monterey County Spelling Bee (fourth and fifth graders) and the Monterey County History Day in February; and the Monterey County Science Fair in March. 

Our new Executive Director, Juliette Calandra Ferguson will be responsible for Grant Writing, Programs, and Lyceum Operations. Ms. Ferguson is an active member of Jr. League of Monterey County and has a background in Human Resources Management and Marketing, most recently with CTB/McGraw-Hill.

Our staff includes Denise Mello, Program Coordinator; Kathleen Hills, Bookkeeper; and Marigrace Gamble, Liaison.

Our 2005-2006 Board Members include: President: Adrienne Meckel, Ph.D.; Hilary Brewer, Past President; Marsha Lubow, CPA, Vice President of Finance and Treasurer;  Lucretia Portman, Vice President of Programs; Karen Letendre, Vice President of Development; Maureen Richards, Secretary; Gloria Dougherty, Chair, Publicity Committee; Jerry Crawford, Facilities Committee Chair; Virginia Hines, Esq., Mock Trial Committee Chair; Buzz Joseph, Board Member; Wayne Cruzan, Board Member; Shirley Stihler, Board Member
                                   
The Lyceum's mission is to inspire a life-long love of learning. We accomplish this by offering enrichment classes that aim to stimulate individual creativity, intellectual promise and academic motivation in children.  The Lyceum's uniquely diverse program enriches the daily lives of children. We help them not only prepare for the future, but to have an impact on it. The Lyceum of Monterey County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
