Lyceum Welcomes New Executive Director
MONTEREY, CA — After six months of extensive search, the Lyceum is pleased to announce that Wanda Pan-Christiansen is joining the Lyceum, a nonprofit, educational enrichment organization as its new Executive Director. The Lyceum of Monterey County’s mission is to inspire a life-long love of learning in children. For 48 years, the Lyceum has provided hands-on enrichment courses for K-12 children in math, science, the humanities, and arts and crafts.
“The Lyceum welcomes Ms. Pan-Christiansen’s enthusiasm and commitment to impact Monterey County’s most valuable asset—our children. She will be a great addition to our organization,” said Lyceum Board President, Lu Portman.
Pan-Christiansen comes to the Lyceum with a wide-ranging program management, business development and marketing background. She was a former Senior Program Manager and Outreach Marketing Director at the Naval Postgraduate School and a graduate of Leadership Monterey Peninsula, class of 2007. Prior to Monterey, Ms. Pan-Christiansen managed, led and executed multimillion dollar governmental grant programs at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. She was directly responsible for educating future leaders in the Former Soviet Union, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America.
“I see children as are our most important resource because they are our future. The Lyceum is a great place to affect the future of our children. I am honored to bring my experience in furthering Lyceum’s commitment to enhance innovative educational programs for Monterey County’s children,” said Pan-Christiansen.
