iLead+Design - a community action studio
Summer 2017 iLead+Design: Students give their presentations to community partners:
In a dynamic, startup-like environment, iLead+Design participants will:
- cultivate teamwork, collaboration, and leadership skills
- develop creative confidence, improvisation, problem-solving and communication skills
- dive into principles of human centered design thinking
- ideate, prototype, and test novel solutions while working in teams
- co-create with a variety of cloud-based digital media and collaboration tools
- actively engage with community partners and program coaches to understand challenges, apply design thinking processes, and design solutions
- present solutions and communicate the processes used to achieve them to peers, coaches, and community members
Open to: Students currently enrolled in 8th - 12th grade
Dates: Two weeks (M-F): June 12 - 23, 2017
Hours: 9am - 3pm
Location: Two Locations - allU.S. Credit Union (Salinas)
Fee: $800 (Financial Aid Available)
Size: 6 Students per Coach

A Look Inside iLead+Design
The Lyceum -- in partnership with allU.S. Credit Union and the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, -- seeks young innovators currently in grades 8 - 12 to participate in the iLead+Design community action studio for two weeks in summer 2017 (June 12 - 23). Studio participants will collaborate with program community partners to understand and define challenges, investigate opportunities for innovation, and design and deliver meaningful solutions.
Who is an iLead+Design participant?
Students in good standing who believe they have much to offer their community
- Creative problem-solvers who ask great questions and enjoy challenge-based learning
- Collaborators who work well in teams
- Contributors willing to meet deadlines on behalf of a team
- Communicators interested in developing their voice
